Tom Izzo was the fifth-highest-paid men’s basketball coach in the NCAA tournament this year, according to a study released to by USA TODAY Sports. The 22nd-year head coach’s total pay of $4,251,751 was top among Big Ten coaches in the tournament. Izzo’s compensation trailed only Louisville’s Rick Pitino ($7,769,200), Kentucky’s John Calipari ($7,435,376), Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski ($5,550,475) and Kansas’ Bill Self ($4,932,626).
