Suzy Merchant returns to sideline after medical leave of absence
Suzy Merchant is back. The Spartans’ basketball coach returned to the sideline for Sunday’s home game against No. 3 Maryland. On Jan. 17, Michigan State announced Merchant would take a medical leave of absence. On Jan. 1, Merchant collapsed during the Illinois game and was reportedly taken to a hospital. She missed the next game but then returned on Jan. 7.
