Michigan State football has announced two future games against Western Michigan. The Spartans will host the Broncos in Spartan Stadium to open both the 2022 season (Sept. 3) and 2025 season (Aug. 30). As previously announced, Michigan State will host Western Michigan on Sept. 7, 2019, in Spartan Stadium.

Brian Lewerke scored on a 61-yard run in the first quarter, and Michigan State’s defense was impressive for a second straight week in a 28-14 victory over Western Michigan on Saturday.Lewerke added another touchdown on a quarterback sneak and also threw for a TD on a day when the Spartans (2-0) didn’t need to do much offensively. Michigan State has allowed only three touchdowns in two games this year. Two of them came on fumble returns and the other on a kickoff return.

Michigan State fans likely had a flashback when they saw Western Michigan’s Darius Phillips return a kick 100 yards for a score against No. 4-ranked USC .It turns out that Phillips had the Spartans on his mind when he was racing towards the end zone against the Trojans. “Trying not to get caught – getting flashbacks to when I got caught against Michigan State,” Phillips said of finishing off his big return. “So I kept looking back, trying to time the jump.”
