Michigan State men’s golfers James Piot and Troy Taylor II were part of a trio named Big Ten Golfers of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday (Sept. 8). Taylor and Piot shared the honor with Indiana’s Drew Salyers. Piot and Taylor tied for medalist honors at last week’s Island Resort Intercollegiate where the Spartans also won as a team. Both Spartans shot a 7-under-par 209, which bettered the third-place finishers by four shots.

Big Ten Announces Men’s Golf Preseason Honorees
With the beginning of the season slated for this weekend, the Big Ten Conference announced its preseason honorees on Tuesday (Aug. 31) with its Golfers to Watch List. Michigan State’s James Piot, Bradley Smithson, and Troy Taylor II were all named to the list, which is selected by the conference coaches.
