Saline 2012 graduate Taybor Pepper went from working the cash register at his parents’ consignment store to being two lockers away from Green Bay Packer quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers in a matter of hours. The former Michigan State Spartan long snapper received a text message from his agent, Kelli Masters, on Sunday night about a potential opportunity with the Packers, the same team that released him after rookie orientation in May.

The Packers signed long snapper Taybor Pepper on Monday after placing Brett Goode on injured reserve. Pepper spent part of the offseason with the Packers and part of training camp with the Baltimore Ravens. He was a four-year long snapper at Michigan State, appearing in 54 career games from 2012-15. Pepper, 23, has never played in a regular-season game.

Taybor Pepper officially signed with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday morning with a one-year contract. The new Raven played for Michigan State from 2012-2015 and tried out with the Green Bay Packers this spring before being let go. With a one-year contract, Pepper looks to show off his skills to be able to stay on the team or even have other teams pick him up at the end of the season.

The Colorado Spartans and the Michael Sadler Foundation teamed up for the first annual Colorado Spartans Social on Thursday evening, and some former Spartan football players were in attendance to support the foundation. Darqueze Dennard, Bennie Fowler, Taybor Pepper, Connor Kruse, and Blake Treadwell were all present for the event, which gave those who came the first opportunity to try Jagged Mountain Brewery’s new craft beer “Hey Diddle Diddle,” which was specifically made in memory of Mike Sadler.
