A pair of former Spartan standouts have earned LPGA Tour status for 2020. Sarah Burnham and Liz Nagel both finished in the top 45 of the LPGA Q-Series this past week in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Nagel finished the eight-round tournament 1-under-par 571 and tied for 16th place, while Burnham was even-par 572 and tied for 20th place.

Michigan State women’s golf senior Sarah Burnham has been voted to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced by the organization on Thursday, May 17. Burnham is the first Spartan voted to the Academic All-District Team since Caroline Powers in 2013.

Sarah Burnham shot a 3-under-par 69 to lead the Michigan State women’s golf team in the opening round of the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational on Friday in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. As a team, the Spartans shot a 9-over-par 297 and sit in 11th place.
