Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans’ road to redemption continues. According to the UFC’s Spanish language website, Evans (19-6-1 MMA, 14-6-1 UFC) is set to meet Sam Alvey (30-9 MMA, 7-4 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 114, which take place August 5 at Mexico City Arena in Mexico.

Nearly 20 years ago, Rashad Evans and Gray Maynard used to punch each other. A lot. And they liked it. A lot. Evans and Maynard were on the same wrestling team at Michigan State in the early 2000s and were good friends. Actually, they were more than that. They were roommates on the road, simpatico in their thinking, keeping each other entertained, helping each other make weight. Actually, they were more than roommates.
