Michigan State has never lost to Oakland in the 15 times the two teams have played since 1998. The Oakland team the Spartans will face this Saturday has four losses already, including one against Toledo and one against Eastern Michigan.

Michigan State’s men’s basketball team is back in action after a week off during final exams, traveling to play Oakland at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Tipoff is slated for 2:30 p.m. The game will air live on ESPNU, with Clay Matvick calling the play-by-play and Brooke Weisbrod serving as the color analyst. The Spartan Sports Network radio call can be heard on one of 38 affiliates and on the web at SpartanSportsNetwork.com, with Will Tieman handling the play-by-play and Matt Steigenga serving as the color analyst. The game can also be heard on Sirius 119 or XM 196.

The annual Michigan State versus Oakland basketball matchup is upon us and the Spartans may be better than Greg Kampe has seen. The Grizzlies come into the matchup with a 6-4 record and a recent loss to Eastern Michigan and the Spartans are 9-1 and ranked No. 2 in the country.
