Coach Mark Dantonio is familiar with recruiting legacy prospects and the 2019 class included one in Forest Hills Central safety Tate Hallock. His father, Ty Hallock, played for the Spartans from 1989-92 and his older brother, Tanner Hallock, joined the team as a preferred walk-on in the 2017 class. Fincher gives Michigan State a foundation for its 2020 recruiting class and there are more legacy prospects the program is pursuing this cycle.

Michigan State offered a recruit this week who should have a familiar name to Spartan fans in Muhsin Muhammad III, a sophomore wide receiver at Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park.
