Matt McQuaid passed up international basketball to start a career at Michigan State
Since he finished with the Spartans in the 2019 Final Four, McQuaid played one season in Germany and one with the Canton Charge, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ affiliate in the G League. He had another chance to play overseas again, just as the world was re-opening after the pandemic and the adrenaline flowed to get back into a gym. But in the end, he chose the Spartans.

The two-time Big Ten champion and Final Four player will be participating in the Professional Basketball Combine later this month looking to further his career. In his senior season, McQuaid averaged 9.8 points and 3.0 rebounds, was named to the Big Ten All-Defense Team and also killed a guy in the Elite Eight.
