Few people if any know more about Michigan State’s basketball program and Jalen Terry’s individual game than Marquise Gray. Gray played for the Spartans from 2005-09 and is currently an assistant coach at Flint Beecher, where Terry will play for one more season before heading to Michigan State in the fall of 2020.

For Marquise Gray, the desire to play professional basketball has faded away. After a successful seven-year overseas career, the 30-year-old decided to retire after last season. His basketball journey landed him in Israel, Turkey, Poland, Mexico, and Japan. He also enjoyed a brief summer league stint with the Detroit Pistons in 2009. But after all that traveling, the former Michigan State player decided to return to his roots. He settled in Flint Township to begin the second phase of life.
