Junior forward Nick Ward (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) tied his career-high with 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while junior guard Joshua Langford (Huntsville, Ala./Madison Academy) had his first career double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds) as No. 10 Michigan State scored 59 points in the first half en route to a 106-82 win over Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday evening at the Breslin Center. -

Langford scored double digits in 11-of-15 non-conference games, the NCAA tournament included. Remove the Duke and Syracuse losses and Langford reached double digits in 11-of-13 non-conference games. In 20 Big Ten games, Langford managed double digits in only eight.

Josh Langford played like a freshman last year, which was disappointing even if he was a freshman. Coming into the season, he was hyped by a number of beat writers as being the best defender on the team with the offensive skill set to make a difference. Even Langford said early in the campaign that his goal was to become the next Denzel Valentine.
