Relief pitcher Nathan Witt was chosen in the 17th round (pick number 520 overall) by the Los Angeles Dodgers, while fellow relief pitcher Joe Mockbee was tabbed in the 29th round (pick number 867 overall) by the Chicago White Sox. Relief pitcher Walter Borkovich signed a non-drafted free agent contract with the Atlanta Braves.

Three more Spartan baseball players taken in MLB draft
A day after one Michigan State baseball player was taken, three more Spartans were picked in the MLB First-Year Player Draft on Wednesday. Two of them were underclassmen. Junior outfielder Brandon Hughes went to the Chicago Cubs in the 16th round with the 495th overall pick. And redshirt sophomore right-handed reliever Nathan Witt was picked in the 17th round by the Los Angeles Dodgers with the 520th pick. The Chicago White Sox also drafted senior left-handed pitcher Joe Mockbee in the 29th round, 867th overall.
