Five Spartans Collect All-Big Ten Accolades
Five Michigan State baseball players earned All-Big Ten accolades, as the conference announced its league awards Tuesday. Second baseman Dan Durkin, center fielder Brandon Hughes, designated hitter Chad Roskelly and pitcher Alex Troop were all tabbed to the All-Big Ten second team list, while outfielder Bryce Kelley was named to the all-freshman team.

Dan Durkin never really saw it coming. As he prepared to play his senior season after earning All-Big Ten honors last year at second base for the Spartans, the only thing on his mind was competing for a conference championship and getting his team back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012. But when the team held its annual First Pitch Dinner in mid-February, coach Jake Boss Jr. called the native of Tinley Park, Illinois, up to the podium.
