CJ Hayes to undergo surgery

For the second time in a year, Michigan State junior wide receiver CJ Hayes will be undergoing surgery. Hayes posted a thank you for thoughts and prayers on Twitter Tuesday, shortly after his father posted about the surgery. Earlier in the year, he received foot surgery, making it a longer road to recovery than originally planned.

Michigan State WR C.J. Hayes driven by work ethic in all aspects of life

Xavier “X” Price remembers a particular moment well from his time training Michigan State signee C.J. Hayes at Western Kentucky. They had moved on to the speed and agility portion of the workout. Hayes had seen the worst of a minor flu virus several days earlier and still felt the residual effects. “I’m gonna throw up, but I don’t know when,” he told Price.
