Michigan State’s Bailey Peterson has been named the Big Ten Conference Baseball Co-Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon. The B1G award is Peterson’s second accolade in as many days after being named to Collegiate Baseball’s National Players of the Week list, announced by the publication Monday afternoon.

This is the second time this season that a Spartan has been recognized by Collegiate Baseball and named to the list nationally recognizing players, as senior pitcher Sam Benschoter collected the accolade on April 26.

Three Michigan State baseball players earned Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch honors, as the conference announced its preseason honors list and preseason poll ahead of Friday’s 2021 season openers around the league. The conference coaches voted on the top six teams and also selected three student-athletes from their own squads to a Preseason Honors list. Junior pitcher Mason Erla, senior outfielder Bryce Kelley and senior infielder Bailey Peterson earned the preseason recognition.

Spartan Baseball Adds One for 2018
Michigan State baseball head coach Jake Boss Jr., announced that Bailey Peterson will be joining the Spartans in the fall of 2017. Peterson is an infielder from Grandville, Michigan, coming to MSU from Kellogg Community College after playing at Grandville High School.
