At one time, Alante Brown was committed to Michigan State, but just before the early signing period, that changed and Brown suddenly re-opened his recruitment. He wound up signing with Texas Tech, but did not enroll and is now taking a prep school year at St. Thomas More in Oakdale, Connecticut. “I’m kind of expecting to learn from my mistakes,” Brown said at the time, “and being able to be blessed with a second chance and miss an opportunity, but regain one is big to me.”

A busy two days in recruiting for Michigan State culminated with commitments from two of the top in-state prospects as Flint Carman-Ainsworth defensive end Michael Fletcher and West Bloomfield wide receiver Tre Mosley picked the Spartans on Friday. Fletcher and Mosley’s announcements came on the heels of Bolingbrook (Ill.) running back Anthony Williams Jr. committing earlier Friday, and Chicago Simeon wide receiver Alante Brown and Euclid (Ohio) running back Brandon Wright committing on Thursday.

Michigan State’s 2019 football class received a boost on Thursday night. Alante Brown, a 3-star athlete and dual-threat QB according to 247Sports, announced his verbal commitment to the Spartans on social media.
