The fifth season of the Big3, a three-on-three basketball league created by rapper Ice Cube in 2017, is around the corner, and three former Michigan State players are looking to get involved. MSU’s Alan Anderson, Brandon Wood, and Ray Weathers are all listed in the 2022 Big3 draft pool released by the league.

None of the Spartans are reunited on the same team, as Shannon Brown is a co-captain on the Aliens team, Jason Richardson plays for Tri-State and Alan Anderson is rolling with Triplets.

NBA veteran Alan Anderson is working out in Las Vegas and hoping for one more call, preferably from his hometown Minnesota Timberwolves. Anderson tells The Associated Press that he has had conversations with several teams about coming back for a ninth NBA season but has yet to firm anything up. The Minneapolis native will turn 35 in October and says he finally feels 100 percent recovered from multiple ankle surgeries in 2015.

As the NBA All-Star break approaches, the season is heating up. There are lots of great storylines: Giannis Antetokounmpo has suddenly become a top-10 player, the revamped Warriors are still a sight to behold and Russell Westbrook is averaging a triple-double (and still somehow not the MVP favorite!) My favorite storyline, year in and year out, is checking in on the Michigan State Spartans in the NBA.
