With all of the defections and dismissals in the off-season, MSU’s secondary took some significant hits. Enter Scott, who enrolled in January and found himself as a starting cornerback by the spring game April 1. It wasn’t a fluke. He has quickly emerged as a potential All-Big Ten-level performer, showing his coverage instincts by reading a receiver’s path pre-snap, trailing him on his hip and jumping the route for his first career interception in a Week 2 win over Western Michigan.
