Michigan State got its work done early Monday night against USC, throwing the visiting Trojans in a first-half hole they weren’t equipped to come back from. The Spartans put the squeeze on USC over the game’s first 20 minutes, and their 16-point halftime lead was more than enough cushion to carry them to the finish line after a second half that was much closer to even on the scoreboard.
