Michigan State was locked in a back-and-forth contest over the first 30-plus minutes against No. 1 Kansas, but the Jayhawks pulled away late in a 77-69 win over the Spartans in the Champions Classic Tuesday night at State Farm Arena. Senior forward Frankie Fidler had 12 points and eight boards to lead the Spartans, while junior forward Jaxon Kohler scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his second-straight double-double, while and redshirt freshman guard Jeremy Fears Jr. finished with nine points, six assists and three rebounds.
