Following his debut season leading Michigan State, Mel Tucker’s staff remained almost completely intact. There was only one departure and that was safeties coach Mike Tressel, who left to take over as the defensive coordinator at Cincinnati. Now coming off a resurgent 11-2 season, there are more changes for the Spartans and Tucker’s staff. A trio of assistant coaches left in Travares Tillman (cornerbacks), William Peagler (running backs), and Ron Burton (defensive line). They were replaced by Effrem Reed (running backs), Brandon Jordan (pass rush specialist), and Marco Coleman (defensive line).
