In a game that was emblematic of the entire Jonathan Smith tenure in East Lansing, featuring disjointed, mismatched performances across both sides of the ball, Michigan State’s defense put together a respectable showing, but its offense was out of sorts for much of the night in the primetime matchup at Spartan Stadium.
