MSU has a pair of rookies entering the league this year in offensive lineman Luke Newman, a sixth-round pick of the Chicago Bears, and running back Nate Carter, who made the Atlanta Falcons’ 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent. Newman’s selection extended MSU’s draft streak to four years with at least one player selected. The program’s 80-year streak of draft representation was snapped in 2021.
