During a blowout win in Week 4 last season, Rodney Bullard had three receptions. The Valdosta State wide receiver took all three to the house while accumulating 114 yards on the road at Erskine College in South Carolina. A total of 375 spectators witnessed the game at a high school field. Even in a Division II national championship loss to Ferris State in Texas, the box score listed fewer than 3,300 in attendance. Next weekend, Bullard will run out of the tunnel for his first game at Spartan Stadium in front of about 70,000 fans in Michigan State’s season opener under the lights against Western Michigan. The graduate transfer and Georgia native topped 1,000 yards receiving last year, but this is the Big Ten.
