Rachel Forsyth and Moses Osterink were named Big Ten Cross Country Runners to Watch. The watch lists were determined by the league’s head coaches. Forsyth, a sophomore, earned Great Lakes Region Cross Country Runner of the Year last season after finishing 16th in the NCAA Championships. She captured first-team All-American honors and was the first Spartan to do that since Jenna Magness in 2021. She was also the Big Ten Freshman of the Year after a solid rookie campaign. Osterink, a junior, was the Spartans’ third-best finisher at the Big Ten Championship last season. He finished 24th with a time of 23:14.2 in the 8k race, which was a personal best time. He also captured All-Region honors by finishing 19th with a time of 29:36.3 in his first collegiate 10k.
