Even when Adam Shaw committed to Rutgers a few weeks ago, Michigan State loomed for the Hillside (N.J.) Pascack Valley athlete. As he thought more and more about it, getting to the East Lansing, Mich., school for an official visit was prominent in his thought process because of his family connection to it. Now, he will be at the school his mom and dad starred at in field hockey and football, respectively, after he committed to the Spartans.
