No. 1 seed Michigan State rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third period to pull out a 5-4 overtime win against No. 4 seed Western Michigan in an NCAA Tournament opener on Friday night in suburban St. Louis. Jeremy Davidson scored on a deflected shot at 8:47 of overtime to lift the Spartans to victory in a Maryland Heights Regional semifinal at Centene Community Ice Arena. They advance to face the winner between Michigan and North Dakota on Sunday (6:30 p.m.) for a spot in the Frozen Four.
