Mel Tucker’s tenure at Michigan State has been a roller coaster. From a 2-5 record in 2020 to 11 wins the following year and then 5-7 last season. The struggles in the pandemic-altered season were predictable given the ridiculous circumstances Tucker and his staff faced after taking over the program. The wild swings were not as easy to see coming. Tucker is about to begin year four when the Spartans host Central Michigan on Friday (7 p.m., FS1) and there’s plenty of uncertainty after roster turnover, including key player losses.
