2023 Season Preview Position Breakdown: Offense
Michigan State will have a new starting quarterback in 2023 as an open competition at the position in spring practice will extend into preseason camp. Following a three-way race in the spring between two-year starter and fifth-year senior Payton Thorne, redshirt junior Noah Kim and redshirt freshman Katin Houser, Thorne transferred to Auburn in May after spring practice.
