MSU Tangles With Miami in Non-League Series
MSU tangles with Miami for the second straight season after a seven-year hiatus in the series. The former CCHA-mates played last October in East Lansing, with the Spartans earning a 3-1, 2-1 sweep. The all-time series tips in favor of Michigan State, which leads 71-34-6. The Spartans own a 29-16-3 mark in Oxford. Miami assistant coach Zach Cisek is a Spartan alumnus and was a goaltender for MSU from 2013-15. He is in his first season at Miami after previously coaching at Lake Superior State, where he coached MSU captain Miroslav Mucha (2019-22).
