Last year, Michigan State spent February and early March sweating out its streak of 23 consecutive made NCAA Tournaments before rallying late in the season and making the field as one of the final teams in. This year, a 14-2 start to the season seemed to assure that the Spartans would be competing for a Big Ten title in late February and early March, not sweating out its tournament fate. Not so fast.
