The Spartans’ ceiling will likely be determined by how adequately the transfers can fill the numerous holes created by 20-plus offseason departures. One of the newcomers MSU’s coaches are convinced will be a hit is running back Kenneth Walker III, formerly of Wake Forest. Pro Football Focus College concurs as it named Walker one of two preseason first-team All-Big Ten running backs, along with Minnesota’s Mohamed Ibrahim. After arriving in January to compete in spring practice, Walker will enter fall camp as the frontrunner to be MSU’s starter in the backfield in 2021.
