In Mark Dantonio’s final two seasons coaching the Spartans, the offensive line was plagued by a rash of injuries that resulted in nine different starting combinations in 2018 and seven in 2019. With a mixture of experience and young talent up front, the Spartans appeared to be in a position to make a significant improvement under new coach Mel Tucker in 2020 but it didn’t materialize and that remains a priority for the program.
