Julius Marble II called his parents to wish them a happy anniversary. A day later, he received a call from home. His father had suddenly died. That was in July, after Michigan State basketball players returned to campus for summer workouts. The tragic loss continues to affect the 20-year-old sophomore as he navigates the perils of a pandemic and a difficult season without one of his biggest anchors. “It’s been really tough,” Marble said Thursday.
