Michigan State junior track & field athlete Rebecca Mammel was named Co-Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week. Mammel, a native of Tecumesh, Michigan, earned her first-ever Big Ten honor after her strong performance at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Jan. 16. In the first meet of the season, she threw a personal best with a heave of 22.19m with the weight throw.
