The Wildcats didn’t just shock No. 4 MSU, 79-65, at Welsh-Ryan Arena in the Big Ten opener for both teams. They earned their first win over a top-5 opponent since 1979 with aggressive defense, punishing rebounding, and precision passing on offense. The Spartans did none of those things, nor did the two things their coach wrote on the whiteboard in their locker room before the game — never relax and play with a sense of urgency. The humbling performance left Izzo completely befuddled and utterly humiliated.
