Originally scheduled to open the season Nov. 10 in Chicago, coach Tom Izzo and the Blue Devils’ Mike Krzyzewski mutually agreed to move it to Duke’s campus instead of holding it at a neutral site. Izzo credited MSU associate athletic director Kevin Pauga for helping arrange the change of venue, adding it was done largely was because of how Duke’s medical staff has been handling COVID-19 testing protocols but also to help balance the Spartans’ home-and-away opponents after months of working and reworking schedules.
