In what just felt like MSU’s year to FINALLY get Izzo over the second national title hump, Cassius was stripped of the chance to write his own ending and place himself (on the court) next to the likes of Magic and Mateen Cleaves. More than the Uconn Elite Eight loss or the Butler Draymond foul, or the many what-ifs of MSU basketball history, this year’s ending to me is the greatest what-if of Izzo’s career. If he fails to spear his Moby Dick and raise the Natty again before he retires, this year will hurt the most for me.
