The 1960′s saw the Spartans’ program finish .500 or worse seven times. The high point was a 1967 Big Ten title team, but the decade ended in tragedy when coach John Bennington died of a heart attack after a workout at Jenison Field House at age 47. Still, though, the program saw its share of stars in those years, including an All-American and multiple other first-team All-Big Ten talents.
