Growing up in Bath, a small town outside of Lansing, Dan Bass dreamed of playing at Michigan State. Bass went on to start all 44 games for the Spartans and led the team in tackles all four seasons. More than four decades later, he still owns the program record for career total tackles with 541. All-American linebacker Percy Snow came the closest to challenging that mark by racking up 473 tackles from 1986-89. All-American Greg Jones, the only other Spartan to lead the team in tackles all four seasons, is third on the list with 465 from 2007-10.
