Cassius Winston needed this. Needed to feel what it was like to put his team on his back and carry it. Needed to hear the noise of the crowd when he does that. Needed to rise up from the top of the key and feel nothing but freedom when the ball splashes through the net. Needed to see the court. Its angles. His own internal geometry. Everything that makes Michigan State’s 6-foot-2 senior point guard one of the best players in college basketball.
