Five years ago, Michigan State and Michigan were in the hunt late in the season for the Big Ten’s regular-season title. It came down to the last night of the season when the champion was crowned. But the Spartans and Wolverines came up short. Minnesota finished first in 2014-15 with 39 points, MSU was second (37) and U-M third (36). Fast forward to this season and both Michigan State and Michigan are title contenders along with four other teams – Penn State, Ohio State, Minnesota and Notre Dame.
