Michigan State accomplished a lot in the first half of the season. The Spartans got stellar goaltending, their defense was solid and the offense, while not great, was opportunistic. MSU had some rewarding series – sweeps against Michigan and Wisconsin and a tie and win vs. Notre Dame. And the Spartans showed resiliency by battling back twice to erase two-goal deficits to win in the third period, and once to win after trailing 2-1.
