MSU needs to win its final two games to become bowl eligible for the 12th time in coach Mark Dantonio’s 13 seasons. The only year the Spartans did not qualify for one was in 2016, when they endured a seven-game losing streak. They have not lost to Rutgers since 2004, squeaking out a 14-10 win a year ago in East Lansing, but they did lose to final opponent Maryland in that 2016 season.
