From MSU’s perspective, the benefit isn’t simply playing another Big Ten team, but this Big Ten team. Assistant coach Dwayne Stephens said the Spartan staff had already started some advance scouting on the Gophers last week to prepare for the possibility of playing them in the conference tournament.
