When last we saw Michigan State football’s offense, things had reached a critical nadir. Struggling to move the ball against Rutgers. Finally ending a drought of nearly 154 minutes of gameplay without a touchdown, only to need a trick play to survive. Continuing to battle the same demons that plagued the Spartans all season:  Injuries and inconsistencies and, at times, ineptitude that led back to one word from Brian Lewerke. “Underachieved.”
