After a victory in the series opener on Friday, the Michigan State hockey team played No. 14 Michigan to a 1-1 tie on Saturday night at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor. The Spartans (6-7-1, 2-3-1-1) claimed the extra point on Saturday however by winning the shootout to take five of six points on the weekend from the Wolverines (6-7-3, 2-3-3-1).
