With Scott returning for a fifth year, he will again be the clear starter and in line to receive the bulk of the carries but that will lead to a crowded backfield. Heyward and Jefferson have played extensively this season due to Scott being injured and Bridges already took a redshirt as a true freshman last year. Additionally, Michigan State has a trio of running backs committed to its 2019 recruiting class in three-star prospects Aaron Young, Anthony Williams Jr. and Brandon Wright.
