Four goals in college hockey should be enough to win the game. For Michigan State on Friday night against Arizona State, it wasn’t enough. Defensive breakdowns doomed the Spartans, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the second period to take a 3-2 lead only to see the Sun Devils score three straight goals – one late in the middle period and two in the third – and hold on for a 5-4 victory in front of a standing-room-only crowd of 923 at the Oceanside Ice Arena.
